Social media is dead.

There's no social anymore.

It's consumption.

It's a status game.

Okay?

So, why not play it like a game?

The great online RPG.

The more you play, the stronger your character gets.

The stronger the character, the bigger the loot.

The bigger the loot, the better the gear.

The better the gear, wait a minute, how do you beat this game?

You don't.

You just You keep playing.

You keep chasing more and greater and bigger and better until you burn out, realize how empty it is and that the only real winners are the games developers.

That's a grim.

Maybe there's a better way.

Everybody can be great.

Cause everybody can serve.

It's a MLK quote.

But if you create to serve others, to educate, to entertain, to encourage somebody in a dark place to not give up.

Maybe that's how you win.

Create to serve. I think this message is more relevant now than ever.

Which is why I’m re-uploading one of my most popular videos (with a slightly different intro & sound edit)

Do you want to build an audience? Ask yourself — what’s in it for them? How can you best serve them?

Is it education? Inspiration? Entertainment?

When you think about it, success is always rooted in service.

When you’re building a startup - any product or service - you’re first identifying what problem you are solving for others.

It’s the same with The Great Online Game.

Creating to serve helps combat burnout too:

When you’re in it for yourself - a certain number or metric - you’re more susceptible to burnout.

When you’re in service to others, there’s a certain strength that comes to you.

&

Fall in love with the journey. You can’t lose.
