Apple just dropped the iPhone 16 with something we didn't expect.
But before you order, let's take a look.
Yeah, it's a little bigger, faster, the screen's a little stronger, all that's expected.
But let's focus on the big thing here.
These devices are now built with Apple Intelligence at the center.
Let's start with Siri.
It now has a rich deep understanding of all your personal context.
As an example, you can say, "Hey, send Erica all the pictures from last week's barbecue." And it has on screen awareness, so if a friend text you a song, you can just say, "Play that." Now, you can access Apple Intelligence from the iPhone 15 Pro, but the iPhone 16 has something unique to it.
It's called Visual Intelligence, meaning you can point your camera to what you're seeing and ask questions about it, like, "Hey, what kind of dog is this?" or, "This bike looks pretty cool, where can I buy it?" So, if that's important to you, upgrade.
If not, I don't think it's worth it.
Unless you rely on your iPhone camera for work, because it's incredibly impressive, especially on the Pro models.
There's a new 48-megapixel Fusion camera and a 48-megapixel ultra-wide camera that enables macro photography, which is really damn cool.
And we have a new button for camera controls with a wide variety of gestures, but my favorite part about the camera, we now have 4k 120 FPS video.
Crazy.
And an audio mix feature, which uses machine learning to isolate the audio you want from any background noise.
I'm definitely picking the 16 Pro up and it's going to replace my cinema camera for a lot of the stuff that I do.
So, my opinion, if you use the camera professionally or for work, get a Pro model.
If you're looking to save time and hassle with Apple Intelligence, upgrade to the non-pro model.
Otherwise, you're probably okay with the device you already have.
