We Made Claude Code Build Lovable in 75 Minutes (With No Code)

Intro
Many people think that Claude Code is better than Cursor. So I brought on an AI coding legend, Kehan Zhang, to see if Claude Code can actually vibe code a full application. And so to test this in one sitting, Kehan is going to try and build Lovable with Claude Code. In this video, we show you how to set up Claude Code. We talk about how you can build Claude Code wrappers with their SDK. And by the end of the video, you will see if we're successful in building Lovable with Claude Code. And this thing also just finished generating a website. Bro, ours looks better. So cool. I'm super excited. This was a fun one. Let's dive in.
Rest of video
- Kehan explains Claude Code, the command line, and why the SDK lets builders wrap Claude Code into code-generation products.
- They scope the Lovable clone down to a site that can generate another site, starting with a simple backend-first proof of concept.
- Claude Code creates early generation scripts, proves it can write a small app, and then needs a real web interface around the function.
- The team connects a frontend text input to the Claude Code SDK function so prompts can trigger code generation from the site.
- They discuss the need for isolated execution, then introduce sandboxed environments so generated code does not damage the main app.
- A large section focuses on running code inside the sandbox, opening generated previews, and debugging command, dependency, and path issues.
- They add a stronger UI around the generated output, including better progress display, prompt handling, and preview links.
- The final stretch tests more prompts, including simple landing page and link-tree ideas, and evaluates how close the system gets to a working Lovable-style experience.
